Robert A Flowers II
Herbert J. and Ann L. Siegel Dean

Robert A. Flowers Two is the Herbert J. and Ann 50. Siegel Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. He previously served equally Lehigh's deputy provost for faculty affairs.  He is also professor and Danser Distinguished Faculty Chair in the Department of Chemistry.

Flowers joined the Lehigh faculty in 2003, serving as chair of the chemistry department until 2015. In 2016, he was named deputy provost for faculty affairs at Lehigh, and officially took on that office in January 2017.

His inquiry group is interested in the mechanistic analysis and development of electron transfer reagents in organic synthesis, synthetic applications of proton-coupled electron transfer, organometallic chemistry, calorimetric analysis of intermolecular interactions, and applications of back-scattering interferometry in molecular recognition.

In 2008, Flowers was awarded the Danser Distinguished Faculty Chair in Chemistry. The distinguished chair is given in award of excellence in inquiry, instruction and service.

Flowers has published more than than 120 peer-reviewed papers, a volume, and v book chapters. He has given more than 100 invited U.Southward. and international lectures at universities and professional meetings.

Flowers taught both undergraduate and graduate courses at Lehigh. At Lehigh, he received the Eleanor and Joseph F. Libsch Research Honour in 2012, the Dean'south Award for Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity in 2016, and the Hillman Accolade for Excellence in Graduate Advising in 2017.

Flowers earned a B.Due south. in chemistry from East Stroudsburg University and a Ph.D. in organic chemical science from Lehigh. He is a Fellow of the American Clan for the Advocacy of Science and the Royal Social club of Chemistry.

Kelly Austin-Noble
Associate Dean of Interdisciplinary Programs and International Initiatives

Kelly Austin-Noble is an associate professor of sociology. She received her PhD from North Carolina State Academy in 2012. Kelly has served as managing director of the Health, Medicine, and Guild program and Global Studies programme, and equally a CAS representative to the Faculty Senate. In 2017 Kelly was awarded the Williamson Prize for innovative scholarship and the CAS Service Award. She has besides been the recipient of the Frank Hook Assistant Professorship which recognized her outstanding work fostering personal interaction and mentoring relationships with students.

Kelly's scholarship utilizes political economic system perspectives to explore the causes of environmental degradation, disasters, and infectious disease in less-developed countries. She conducts cross-national quantitative assessments and qualitative fieldwork on-the-ground in rural Uganda. Austin enjoys teaching courses on Inquiry Methods, Global Health, and the Political Economic system of Globalization.

R. Michael Burger
Acquaintance Dean for Research and Graduate Studies

R. Michael Burger is a professor of biological sciences. He earned his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin prior to postdoctoral fellowships at the Virginia Merrill Bloedel Hearing Research Centre at the University of Washington School of Medicine and the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich. He is a beau of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

At Lehigh, Dr. Burger teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in the behavioral neuroscience program. He served on the Department of Biological Sciences Graduate Committee for many years, has served on the Health Professions Advisory Committee, and served every bit Chair of the University Faculty Compensation Committee for three years.

Dr. Burger's inquiry group investigates the neurobiological basis of hearing and has been supported past the National Institutes of Wellness, The Hearing Wellness Foundation, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.  He has agile collaborations with laboratories at the Academy of Munich, the University of Oldenburg, NEOMED, and the National Institute for Deafness and other Communication Disorders. He serves as Acquaintance Editor at Frontiers in Neural Circuits and The Periodical of the Clan for Research in Otolaryngology. He is a member of the Editorial Board at the Periodical of Neurophysiology.

Dawn Keetley
Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs

Dawn Keetley is a professor of English. She earned her Ph.D. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Dec 1994, with fields in women'south literature, feminist theory, and nineteenth-century American literature.

After spending several years writing near nineteenth-century U.S. women's autobiography, so about fictional accounts of murderous women, and finally about men's homicidal jealousy and green-eyed, Keetley's most contempo publication is Making a Monster: Jesse Pomeroy, the Boy Murderer of 1870s Boston, a cultural history of the weather condition that led a 14-yr-erstwhile boy to torture and murder several small-scale children between 1872-1874. Keetley has as well published manufactures about gimmicky Gothic and horror fiction, film and tv set, including on Stephen King'due south Cell, George Romero's Dead films, FX's American Horror Story, AMC's The Walking Dead, and Showtime'due south Dexter. She is currently working on a monograph and a collection of essays on Folk Horror.

Keetley also runs a website, Horror Homeroom, with Elizabeth Erwin and Gwen Hofmann about all aspects of horror. She is most recently the editor of Jordan Peele's Go Out: Political Horror.  She is co-editor with Matthew Wynn Sivils, of Ecogothic in Nineteenth-Century American Literature, Plant Horror:  Approaches to the Monstrous Vegetal in Fiction and Picture with Angela Tenga, and The Politics of Race, Gender and Sexuality in The Walking Dead with Elizabeth Erwin. Keetly is besides editor of We're All Infected:  Essays on AMC's "The Walking Dead" and the Fate of Human.

Susan Szczepanski
Acquaintance Dean for Undergraduate Programme s

Susan Szczepanski is an associate professor in the Section of Mathematics.  She received her Ph.D. from Rutgers University and held a mail-doctoral position at M.I.T. earlier joining Lehigh.  Her scholarly interests include geometric topology, singularity theory and, more recently, applications of topological concepts to the assay of information.

She is actively involved in the mentoring of undergraduate students as an advisor for students majoring in Mathematics, as an advising mentor for beginning year students in the College of Arts and Sciences and as a content specialist and mentor to students, in the College of Education, pursuing certification by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.  She was a 2017 recipient of the Higher of Arts and Sciences Schuafeld Award for Advising Excellence.

Equally an Accelerate chair, she served on the leadership squad of the NSF funded, Lehigh Advance grant targeting recruitment, retention, and advancement of women faculty in Science, Engineering, Applied science and Mathematics (STEM) fields at Lehigh.  Through Lehigh'southward Outreach Office, she has participated as senior personnel on two NSF-funded projects partnering Lehigh Stem faculty and graduate students with teachers in the Lehigh Valley area school districts and encouraging students to pursue interests in the Stalk fields.

At Lehigh, she chaired the CAS Policy Committee and the Graduate and Research Committee, and served on the Faculty Steering Commission, the Faculty Personnel Commission, the Faculty Committee on Student Life and the Faculty Compensation Committee.  She served every bit Lehigh University Ombudsperson for 4 years, 2014 through 2018.
