How to Add Universal Items to Amazon Baby Registry

When you announce your pregnancy, there will be lots of people so excited that they just cannot wait to buy adorable gifts for your new bundle of joy. (Yay!)

Here's the thing. They'll be excited. But they'll alsowant to be helpful. They will want to give you something that you love, that you will use, and that you don't already have.

How can you help them make that happen? By creating ababy registry,of course! 😉

My ultimate favorite baby registry is, by far, Amazon. Read on to find out why I love it so much, or just skip to the end to follow the steps on how to do it!

10 Reasons I love Amazon's baby registry

1. Amazon carries almost every baby supply you could imagine- in almost every brand you could imagine. The selection is huge.
2. In my experience, I've found that Amazon's prices are generally lower than big baby stores.
3. Your friends and family are probably already familiar with Amazon- which will make for a super easy gift-buying experience for them.
4. You can add items to your registry that aren't strictly "baby" items. Like curtains for the baby's room, for example.
5. Amazon's website and app are both really user-friendly
6. Amazon reviews make it really easy to decide which brands and items to add to your registry.
7. Amazon is a universal registry, which means that you can add items from other stores or websites (like Etsy.)
8. If someone wants to give you a gift, but lives far away, it's super easy to have it shipped right to you.
9. Amazon offers a completion discount, so you can buy remaining items on your registry at a discount. (10% or 15% for Prime members)
10. Speaking of Amazon Prime, there are even more perks and discounts for you if you decide to become a prime member. (So worth it!)

So what are the drawbacks?

• Free returns are only up to 90 days… and may only apply to items that were actually purchased from Amazon, as opposed to third party sellers.
• You can't see the items in store first before adding them to your registry.
• Some items might require your friends and family to pay for shipping.

How to set up an Amazon baby registry

1. Go to this page, and click onGet Started,underStart a Baby Registry.
2. Sign in to your Amazon account, if you aren't already logged in.
3. Fill in the requested information about yourself and clickcreate my baby registry.
4. You're done! I told you it was easy. 🙂

How to add items to an Amazon baby registry  (from website or app)

1. Type any item into the search bar. (For example, "diaper bag")
2. Click on a particular item, and look for the yellow button that says, "Add to cart." Underneath that button, you will now have another option: "Add to baby registry." Just click on it.
3. When you add an item, an option will pop up to view your registry.
4. While viewing your registry, you can click to delete an item, oredit (it's called item settings on the app) tochange the number requested, the category, mark as a must-have item, or write comments that will be visible to your family and friends.

How to add items from another website or store

If you want to add an item from a different store or website, here's how you do it:

1. Click here to add the Amazon Assistant Google Chrome extension.
2. Click and follow the directions to install.
3. Go to the website of the item you'd like to add to your registry.
4. Click on the Amazon extension in your toolbar.
5. Clickadd to list,make sure the product picture is showing, and then clickadd to baby registry.
